Deutsche Lufthansa AG, in partnership with SAP.iO Berlin Foundry, a company that specializes in AI and machine learning, has announced a firs ever the Aviation Blockchain Challenge, a contest for the best blockchain project in the aviation sector.
‘We want to attract the world’s most talented Blockchain entrepreneurs by providing the perfect environment to ideate and experiment with new business models. The combination of Lufthansa’s innovation ecosystem and massive industry expertise along with access to SAP Blockchain assets and mentorship will enable you to put your idea in the spotlight of relevant decision makers and consequently boost your Blockchain business,’ the challenge website states.
The contest stipulates the following types of projects:
- ideas for making airline operations flawless and more accurate;
- ideas for making the travel experience more efficient and convenient;
- ideas for making Supply Chain & Maintenance transparent and interconnected.
The contest will take place in two stages: in the ‘Kick off’ phase, contest participants will submit their projects, in the ‘Short list selection’ phase, the most interesting ideas will be selected for to be presented to the Lufthansa Group and SAP Senior Management.
The contest organizers are sure that the project will allow to reveal both latent opportunities of the blockchain technology and ways of applying them in the aviation industry. The best ideas will be taken into development by the German concern. The submission of ideas will be open to the public until August 31.
