California-based company Impossible Foods has represented the “Impossible Burger 2.0” at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the annual technology conference that is taking place in Las Vegas.
The new version of the vegan hamburger contains artificial meat that is almost indistinguishable from the real meat. Impossible Foods has also replaced wheat in the burger patty with soy protein to make it gluten-free and made the burger more user-friendly for the home cook.
“In addition to taste tests with consumers conducted by independent researchers, Impossible Foods’ own flavor scientists and sensory experts conduct at least 100 internal taste tests per week,” David Lipman, Impossible Foods’ Chief Science Officer, told.
Food critics who tried the synthetic burgers have spotted the difference, while the CES visitors were not able to tell the difference between the “Impossible Burgers 2.0” and beef burgers.
