Tokyo ranks #1 in World Innovation Cities Index ahead of London and Silicon Valley.
The plots of science-fiction films began to come true: there are skyscrapers behind the cloud line, vacuum trains that travel hundreds of kilometers per second are being built, and an autopilot is signaling on the road without a driver behind the wheel. Which city has reached the highest innovation indicators and where to go to see the future today?
Each year, the 2thinknow innovation data agency creates the ranking of 100 most innovative cities within the Innovation Cities Program. A report that assesses the investment potential, and also makes a forecast of the innovation development of the city in the near future is created within the program.
Places in the ranking are determined with the help of 162 innovation indicators within 3 main factors:
• Cultural wealth: art, museums, non-governmental organizations, cultural events, galleries, media, access to information, sport.
• Infrastructure for people: logistics, finance, universities, hospitals, railways, shops, start-ups, healthcare, telecommunications.
• Markets: scale of markets, geographic data, level of economy (import / export), technologies, geopolitics.
