Although the cryptocurrency market, contrary to expectations of optimists, did not grow sharply in March, its general trend was positive. If a month ago the market capitalization was $ 130 billion, now it is more than 140 billion. Bitcoin (EXANTE: Bitcoin) returned confidently to $ 4,000 from $ 3,800 and even approached $ 4,100 in some March days.
If we talk about Altcoins, not all of them imitated BTC. Their volatility always exceeded Bitcoin volatility, but this time they have proved to be especially independent, and not only from BTC, but also from each other. Among the top currencies, the March growth champions, far ahead of the BTC, are:
- Binance Coin (BNB): increased by 74% from $ 9.5 to $ 16.5
- Cardano (ADA): increased by 49% from $ 0.043 to $ 0.064
- Lightcoin (LTC / USD): increased by 33% from $ 45 to $ 60
Bitcoin Cash (EXANTE: Bitcoin.Cash): increased by 25% from $ 132 to $ 165
The other top ten currencies were more modest: There were ups and downs in the way of Ethereum (ETH / USD) in the range of $ 126–143, but the current price is almost the same as a month ago: $ 137. After Constantinople hard fork, this cryptocurrency feels good and has a strong community, which is very important in the field of cryptocurrency. In addition, Ethereum is focused on creating applications, and there are more and more of them every day.
The surprise was made by the ETH’s competitor — EOS (EOS / USD): for about the month it fluctuated around $ 3.6, but recently it sharply overcame the level of $ 4. It is difficult to say whether it will be fixed there or come back down.
The hero of the winter Ripple (XRP / USD), who took second place at the capitalization rating once, is again in third place now and continues to lose ground. However, it is happening very slowly: it was a little more expensive than $ 0.31, it became a little cheaper.
Ripple’s main competitor, Stellar (XLM), has grown quite well: from $ 0.087 to $ 0.106 cents. Also, we note that XRP and EOS have recently received the highest “A” rating from Weiss Ratings agency as the most promising Altcoins.
Local ups and downs of quotes are too unstable ground to base investment advice on it. One thing is clear: there is a lively struggle in the market both between individual instruments and entire cryptocurrency philosophies. The race involves both “simple currencies” such as BTC, LTC and BCH, and bank crypto rails such as XRP and XLM, and whole crypto spheres, such as ETH, ADA and EOS.
