Global electronics giant HTC has announced that it’s new smartphone, the EXODUS 1s, will have full node capabilities for the Bitcoin blockchain. Building on the first generation of the company’s blockchain smartphone, Exodus 1, the new device will be the first smartphone to ever to have full node capabilities.
According the press release shared on May 11, the value-oriented version of the smartphone will be released by Q3 of 2019, the price is expected to range between $250-$300.
“We gave users the ability to own their own keys, and now we’ve gone one step further to allow users to run their own full node. We are democratizing access to the technology for a free world.” Phil Chen, Decentralized Chief Officer at HTC, noted.
Released last October, the HTC EXODUS 1 includes a cryptocurrency wallet and supports decentralized applications or dapps. Currently, the $699 phone is sold solely online.
