Luxury fashion brand Alyx is launching an IOTA-based pilot for supply chain tracking, according to crypto industry magazine Vogue Business from June 24.
Shoppers can now scan a QR code and track the life cycle of an item from its creation to the time of sale via an app. Data on raw materials, the place and date of production of clothing are stored in the IOTA blockchain.
“Blockchain implementation was relatively less complex For Alyx, given the brand’s just four-year history and the fact that it produces 80% of its products with Italian suppliers who are committed to transparency,” Alyx creative director Matthew Williams told.
