The U.S. outpaces the rest of the world in the volume of Facebook’s Libra-themed tweets, according to The TIE research.
43.8 percent of the posts were published in the U.S., while 10.5 percent came from second place U.K., France, Canada and Australia were next most prolific tweeters, in descending order of volume.
Sentiment-wise — whether tweets were talking positively or negatively about the crypto — the U.K. was most positive.
“Libra tweets were most positive in the United Kingdom, but tended to be much less positive in the US and France – countries experiencing regulatory pushback,” The TIE tweeted.
On June 18, Facebook introduced its own Libra cryptocurrency. The company received support from Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Uber, eBay, Farfetch and other financial and technology companies. Libra’s global launch will take place in the first quarter of 2020, and testing will begin at the end of 2019.
