Animoca Brands, the maker of mobile games is to develop a MotoGP-branded race management game with crypto collectibles. For this purpose, the company partnered with sports management company Dorna Sports, S.L.
The new game will use blockchain tech and smart contracts to allow players to purchase and exchange collectibles that will be included in the game’s storyline.
“Animoca Brands will produce a “manager” style game based on MotoGP intellectual property that will consist of a selection of Collectibles linked directly to the core gameplay; the Manager Game will utilise blockchain technologies and custom-developed smart contracts to enable users to purchase, collect, view, use, and transfer the Collectibles that will be part of the gameplay,” the official press release says.
The firm also announced that it had raised 1 million Australian dollars (over US$676,000) for game developing and other “business opportunities.”
The game launch scheduled for the start of the 2020 MotoGP racing season, which is slated for March.
