Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg highlighted that he is focused on developing Libra as never before on other projects of the company, talking in interview with Nikkei on Thursday.
“Obviously we want to move forward at some point soon [and] not have this take many years to roll out. But right now I’m really focused on making sure that we do this well,” he said.
Although the question on Libra start time was left unanswered, Facebook CEO stressed that the company will try not to delay the release.
He also said that Facebook is now taking a more cautious approach when bringing forward projects like Libra that are ”very sensitive for society,” allowing a period for consultation and “working through the issues.”
“This is a completely different approach than we might have taken five years ago. However, I think that this is the right path for us on the scale on which we work,” Zuckerberg added.
