Siemens has unveiled its plans to integrate distributed ledger technology into carsharing systems through its subsidiar.
Current carsharing systems tase with several problems, being the most remarkable the one concerning fueling cards. These cards are used to fuel these vehicles, however, they can only be used in some specific stations and are usually stolen and sold on the Internet. Blockchain technology could help to solve the problem.
This is not the only way to use blockchain in the transport industry. For example, Siemens introduced a blockchain-based parking solution during the Bosch 2019 Connected World conference.
