Russia government is preparing a ban option to pay in crypto for goods and services, according to report from Izvestia on Nov. 29. The fact of upcoming ban not yet officially confirmed.

Russian regulators think a ban is necessary to prevent cryptocurrencies from being used as payment, citing their concerns about crime.
Russia’s major crypto bill, “On Digital Financial Assets” had been approved by the Russian parliament in May 2018, but was subsequently sent back to the first reading stage due to lack of major key concepts such as crypto mining, cryptocurrencies, and tokens.
