Scientific and technological progress does not stand still and already now, we can evaluate the benefits realization of what was not long ago science fiction. Let’s look at several “tomorrow’s” technologies that already available.

Terraforming

This is the technology that will help restore the natural landscape of modern cities, for example, it can raise cities hidden under the ground in the XIX-XX centuries to the river surface.

Green parks, rivers and rocks will return not only for the aesthetic pleasure of residents of megacities, but also to improve the environmental situation on the planet and prevent global warming.

Electric Highway

By 2080, people will have completely abandoned vehicles that pollute the air and turned to electric cars. In order not to waste time for recharging, the highways will be equipped with sensors and inductive technologies. Thanks to this, cars can constantly drive at maximum speed.

Electric road technology is being developed now. Elonroad, the Swedish company, should show the first such highway by 2022 — it will be opened in Lund.

City public transport will also be environmentally friendly, electrified and autonomous. Alas, drivers of buses, trams and trolleybuses will be made redundant.

Green Building

Green building implies that constructions of houses will cause minimal harm to the environment.

The main principle of this technology is less consumption, more reuse. To do this, passive heating and cooling systems, solar panels, motion detectors and rainwater accumulation will be built into green houses.

Green houses will be resilient and flexible: this will let them quickly adapt to any natural disaster, such as an earthquake or flood.

Artificial meat

By artificial meat we mean not soy analog, but real meat. It will be grown in labs from the cells of real animals. In this case, they will not kill cows, pigs and chickens: they simply take a small piece of muscle tissue from them, and then artificially increase it.

This technology will make it possible to close most meat plants and agricultural land, and use their territory to restore the natural landscape.

Plastic asphalt

In 2080, the concept of zero-waste consumption will be distributed throughout the planet. Garbage will be recycled and used to the benefit of others. For example, roads will begin to be made of plastic: both the carriageway and the pedestrian part.

Plastic “asphalt” needs less repairing: it is less susceptible to heat and can last at least 50 years without problems. All important communications will be placed under roads, and a storm water drainage system will be built into them.

Nanotechnology Clothing

Traditional clothes and huge dressing rooms will not be needed in 2080. Instead, sets of nanobots controlled by voice commands will be present in people’s closets.

Robots will build any suit on the body at the owner’s request. You can choose the color, style and size: you won’t have to update the wardrobe if the weight or fashion trends change.

The main advantage of nanotechnology clothing is that it does not need to be washed. It is water repellent and self-cleaning. Real magic!

Augmented Reality

In the future, people will value time and comfort more. Due to this, the concept of work will change: there will be no need to go to the office and work constantly in the team. It will be possible to perform tasks from anywhere, for example from home, and to solve important issues — use the technology of augmented reality. Specially designed machines will create almost identical copies of the office interior and the images of colleagues.

Augmented reality can also be used outside work, for example, to communicate with friends and relatives who live in another region or country. People will not just talk on the phone, write text messages or call each other, but it will be as if they were really in the same room with their opponent.

Neurointerfaces

People will learn to control augmented reality and smart homes through the power of thought. To do this, they will need neurointerfaces — chips built into the brain and transmitting signals from it to electronic devices.

Neurointerfaces will allow you to communicate with friends, friends and relatives, without using a smartphone or computer. They will also help quickly diagnose and treat diseases.

Neurointerfaces are being developed now. So, in 2019, Neuralink was presented. This is a robot neurosurgeon that will be built into the human brain to help study in detail most of the diseases of the nervous system (paralysis, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy).
