American businessman and technology investor Mark Cuban, known as the most outspoken Bitcoin skeptic has compared the cryptocurrency to art or gold in comments to Forbes published on Dec. 10.
When asked him about the cryptocurrency as a “reliable financial instrument,” Cuban replied “Not a chance” at first. A little later, the businessman added, “It is a collectible. If you consider art or gold a viable stable financial asset, then yes. It can be.”
Explaining why they don’t like Bitcoin is a common problem for Bitcoin skeptics. In comparison, in early October, the Dallas Mavericks owner said he’d “rather have bananas than bitcoin,” warning potential bitcoin and cryptocurrency investors that digital tokens have “no intrinsic value.”
Last year, another Bitcoin sceptic Jamie Dimon, CEO of JPMorgan, said that he was “not a skeptic” of Bitcoin when pushed to explain his previous claim it was a fraud.
