British rock band Muse has partnered with Dapper Labs, the company behind blockchain-based virtual collectables CryptoKitties. The collaboration will focused on the creation of two crypto-collectibles, including a limited edition Kitty “signed” by the rock band.
The rock-themed collectible Kitties will be designed using visual elements from Muse’s latest album, “Simulation Theory.” Two characters — “Marty” and “Mibbles” — will be based on Matt Bellamy’s incarnation in the “Something Human” video and a mini-monster from the video for “Pressure.”
CryptoKitties are digital collectibles which are used for breeding and their value is determined based on how precious or unique the digital cat is, for example, a rare baseball card is very valuable. During 2019, CryptoKitties generated over 2 million transactions — the highest among any consumer decentralized application on Ethereum.
In recent years, Muse has notably made a feature of new technologies in their rock spectacles and tours for albums such as “Drones” and “Simulation Theory.”
